◆ No matter how many resources the country faces, properly considered and properly managed, the National Cancer Awareness Program helps reduce the incidence of cancer and improve the lives of cancer patients.  The National Cancer Control Program is a public health program designed to reduce the incidence of cancer, death and improve the lives of cancer patients by systematically and appropriately implementing evidence-based strategies for cancer prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and mitigation using the best available resources. 

◆ A comprehensive national cancer program evaluates a variety of measures to control the disease, including the most cost-effective measures to benefit the government and the majority of the population.  Emphasizes on giving as much relief as possible to patients with advanced disease in addition to shake.
 It is an important public health issue as 7 to 9 lakh cancer cases occur every year.  It is estimated that there are about 2.5 million cases of cancer in the country at any given time.  It is estimated that 4 lakh people die of cancer every year.  Forty percent of cancers in the country are caused by tobacco.  Thus, tobacco-based cancers of the lungs and oral cavity are very common in men.  Cervical and breast cancer are common in women.

◆ The National Cancer Awareness Program was launched in 1975-56 with the objective of early detection, early detection, treatment and rehabilitation.  The changing needs of the disease
 Amendments have been made to meet the third amendment in December 2004.  Under the revised program, the primary focus is on reducing the geographical disparity in cancer treatment facilities available across the country.  Scope and variety of the program
